American rapper Yung Berg began crafting a respectable singing career at a very tender age. Celebrated for his debut single “Sexy Lady”, Yung Berg stepped into the industry in 2001. Till date, he has released two studio albums, an EP and multiple mixtapes.
Yung Berg took birth on 9th of September 1985 as Christian Ward in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He discovered his love for music at an early age and by 2001, he was already signed by DMX’s Bloodline Records. He debuted as Iceberg on the 2001 Exit Wounds soundtracks on the track “Dog 4 Life”. But he did not get support from his parents, thus was forced to leave music career behind. His parents enrolled him to military boarding school located in Montana. After completing his schooling, he shifted to Los Angeles in 2003. After two years, he started to work as recording assistant and hypeman for Chicago rapper Shawnna and Disturbing the Peace member. Eventually he founded production team named Yung Bosses.
By this time, Yung Berg was all set to blow up the music industry with his accomplished skills and soon his debut single “Sexy Lady” hit the market which became the instant hit. The single peaked at number 18 at Hit 100 chart, 16 at R&B chart and 6 at Rap chart. Eventually he found himself in the middle of several enticing deals, but finally settled with reputed Epic Records. His six-track EP titled “Almost Famous: The Sexy Lady EP” hit the market in July 2007. That same year, he was featured in Kat DeLuna’s music video titled “Whine Up”. The EP entered the US Billboard 200 chat at number 32 and in the first week 20,000 copies were sold. The EP was comprised of tracks such as, “Sexy Lady”, “Into It”, “Where Do We Go”, “Almost Famous”, “Sexy Lady (Remix)” and “Painkiller”. The album reached number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Top Rap Albums. The following year, he dropped another single titled “Sexy Can I” and the released his debut album named “Look What You Made Me”. Second single “Do that There” from the album featured Dude ‘n’ Nem”. Another single “The Business” climbed at number 33 on the Hot 100. The album peaked at number two on U.S. Billboard Top Rap Albums, 3 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” and 20 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album featured songs like “Get Your Number”, “Outerspace”, ‘If You Only Knew”, “Interlude”, “One Night” and the titled track “Look What Yo Made Me” among others. On 7th of January 2010, he released his first mixtape titled “The Show, The Afterparty & The Hotel”. Till date he has dropped multiple mixtapes entitled “Young Boss or Die Vol. 1”, “Passport Swag”, “Young Boss or Die Vol. 2”, “Red Carpet Treatment”, “Yes We Can”, “Twitter Muzic Vol. 1”, Twitter Muzic Vol. 2”, “Back 2 Business Vol. 1 and 2, “Money Can’t Buy Love”, “Ground Work”, “The Love Project” and “Reality Check” among others. Besides rapping, he co-produced and co-penned tracks like “Shanghai”, “Buy a Heart” and “Want Some More” from Nicki Minaj’s album titled “The Pinkprint”. In 2014, he appeared in the debut season of “Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood”. However he was soon fired from the show as he assaulted his girlfriend and got arrested. Talking about his infamous personal life, Yung Berg has faced many legal charges and has been part of several controversies. Reportedly, he was taken into custody for assaulting his former girlfriend Masik Kalysha Tucker. Though he has never been married, he has a child named Lamont McFerren. However he does not seem responsible towards his child, thus ‘Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Service” arrested him.
