Generally, people always have interest in identical twins. During several occasions, we have met twins and finds difficult to identify which one is your friend. We human just get amazed, seeing duet who looks alike.  Let’s take a small glance at the list of famous identical twins.


1. The Olsen sisters

Well, no mirror reflection at all. Both are real. Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen are the richest identical twins. The Olsen sisters were born on June 13, 1986, to David Olsen and Jarnette. They are American fashion designer as well as former child actresses.

The Olsen twins found fame playing Michelle Tanner in the Television series Full house at the age of six months. At the age of six, both the sisters starred together in movies and video projects until their teenage year.

After being matured, they decided to broaden their career in the fashion field. In 2006, the Olsen sisters were selected as the face of Badgley Mischka, the upscale fashion line.  In North America’s Wal Mart store, they had their clothing for 4-14-year-old girls.

Additionally, The Olsen sisters started a beauty line named Mary-Kate and Ashley: Real Fashion for girls. In 2007, the twin sister launched contemporary collection, 'Elizabeth and James'.

The following year, the Olsen Sisters published a book titled ‘Influence’. Following their success, they were named the 11th richest women in the world in 2011.

2. The Winklevoss twins

You probably have heard about the Winklevoss twin brothers who sued Mark Zuckerberg, claiming that he stole their idea and create social networking site. They are the Internet entrepreneur, website developers, and rowers.  

The twins were born on August 21, 1981, to Howard Edward Winklevoss Jr. Their father, Howard, is the professor, author, and founder of Winklevoss consultant and Winklevoss Technologies.

While attending Harvard University, Cameron Winkle Voss and Tyler Winkle Voss co-founded social networking site, ConnectU in 2004.

 In 2013, the twins’ company, Math-Based filed to register a company named Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust. The same year, they stated that they owned around 1% of all bitcoin.

The following year, The Winklevoss twins launched Winkdex. In 2008 Beijing Olympics, they competed in the man’s pair rowing, representing the United States.

3. James and Oliver Phelps

It would be really surprising, if you haven’t noticed these guys in the iconic movie ‘Harry Potter’. James and Oliver Phelps are British actors, best known for their identical twins in the movie, Fred, and George Weasley.

The twin brothers were born on February 25, 1986, to Susan and Martin Phelps. James is just 13 minutes younger than Oliver. At 14, they skipped the exam to perform the audition of the movie Harry Potter. They were cast in the movie Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone, after facing six auditions.

In 2012, the twins starred in the short documentary ‘A Mind's Eye’, based on Plato’s philosophy.  Both of them love traveling and playing golf.

Besides that, they also do charity work as they are supporting Teenagers cancer trust. In 2011, they were the part of Skydiving for Cancer Research UK in the memory of the 11-years-old boy, died of brain cancer.


4. The Harp Twins

Very few recognized these musical ladies, Camille and Kennerly Kitt, best known as The Harp Twins. They are American identical twin acoustic harpists who compose and perform.

They are widely recognized for their YouTube videos. The twin enrolled at Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and earned bachelor degree with the highest honors.

Till date, Camille and Kennerly kitt have released about 80 singles online alongside four physical cover albums. Not only in music, they are also good in acting and have appeared in numerous films.

Since early childhood, the Harp twins were playing the piano. The twin’s sisters are widely known for their duet performance. Both the sisters appeared in the movie Politics of Love and blacktino.

5. The Proclaimers

The music lover will surely recognize these two guys, Charlie and Craige Reid. These identical twins formed a band, The Proclaimers. The Proclaimers are bests known for their songs, ‘I’m Gonna Be’, ‘Sunshine on the Leith’, I’m on My Way’ and ‘Letter from America’.

Charlie and Craige Reid were born on March 5, 1962, n Edinburgh, Cornwall. After performing with several rock bands during school days. They formed a Scottish band The Proclaimers in 1983.

 In 2007, they came with the new version of ‘I’m Gonna Be’.  Their new version songs hit the number one sport in the UK single chart. The proclaimers are widely known as the supports of Scottish independence and have been activists for the Scottish National Party.

6. Shawn and Aaron Ashmore

Shawn and Aaron Ashmore were the identical twin Canadian actors. If you remember Bobby Drake/Iceman in the movie X-men, then you would probably recognize Shawn Robert Ashmore while his identical brother was in Killjoys and Warehouse 13. Both actors have worked together in Smallville.

Shawn and Aaron Ashmore were born on October 7, 1979, in Richmond, British Colombia to Linda and Rick Ashmore. Their father, Rick, was a manufacturing engineer. Even though they have performed twins in numerous movies, they have earned the fame in their individual work.

According to Aaron, His twin brother always gets the role of nice guy whereas he often casts as the bully. Both of them have ‘GMA’ tattoo in their wrists. Their grandfather also had a similar tattoo that represents ‘Good Man Ashmore’.


7. Kray twins

Twin brothers Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Kray and Reginald ‘Reggie’ Kray were widely known as Kray twins. Even though they are not alive, still these identical twins are recognized in the crime domain.  

Kray twins were born on October 24, 1933, in Crowthorne, England. During the 1950s and 60s, these twin brothers were English gangsters who were chief culprits of organized crimes in the East End of London.

Along with their gangs, the Krays were involved in protection rackets, arson, armed robberies, and assaults. These mafia twins were also involved in the murder of Jack ‘the Hat’ McVitie and George Cornell.

At that time, they owned West End nightclub that connects them with politician and entertainers. After being interviewed on television and being photographed by David Bailey, they became famous.

The Kray twins were arrested on 1968 and the court sentenced them to lifetime imprisonment. Ronnie died on March 17, 1995, and Reggie died on October 1, 2000.


8. The McGuire Twins

Billy Leon McCray and Benny Loyd McCrary, famously known as ‘The McGuire Twins’, were professional wrestlers. Theses fattest twins were listed in the Guinness Book of World Records title as the ‘World’s Heaviest Twins’.

The McGuire Twins were born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, United States. After being professionally betrothed with wrestling, they become famous with their ring name McGuire. They became world famous as a tag-team wrestler.

In a very short period of time, they became renowned. At the age of 32, Billy McCray died on 1979 in a motorbike accident in Niagara Falls. However, his twin brother lives for 21 years more and died in 2001 at the age of 54 due to heart failure.
