Disney’s Kim Possible is the second longest running animated original series to be aired on Disney Channel. It was on air for five years and ended its popular run in 2007. The protagonist Kim Possible has become one of the most recognizable animated characters on television and the actress, Christy Carlson Romano, who voiced Kim Possible for all those year is even more popular. Born on March 20, 1984, Christy has enjoyed more than twenty years of success in the acting field and has appeared in several Broadway productions like Annie, The Sound of Music and The Will Rogers Follies. The actress is also widely popular as the girl starring in the early 2000s American comedy sitcom, Even Stevens.

Christy made her debut as an actress on Broadway when she was six. She toured nationally as a child actress in Broadway and in 1996 appeared in Everyone Says I Love You by Woody Allen. She returned to college at Barnard College after the end of Even Stevens. She met her husband Brendan Rooney while she was a student at Barnard College where she majored in film studies. They got engaged in 2011 and wedded in 2013 in Banff, Alberta.

In 1997, Christy appeared in Henry Fool and made a debut in Broadway when she was a teenager in Alfred Uhry’s Parade a year later. She was the first actress to appear in three simultaneous Disney Channel shows in 2002. The shows were Even Stevens, Cadet Kelly and Kim Possible. As a voice actress for Kim Possible, she received as Daytime Emmy Award nomination. The popular animated series also spawned two full length movies, Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time and Kim Possible: So the Drama.  She is also known for her work as a voice actress for Final Fantasy VII Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts. She has starred numerous Disney Channel and ABC Family movies over the past two decades. Her popular movies are Campus Confidential, The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold, Taking Five, The Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dream among others. She also appeared in television series such as Kaya, Joan of Arcadia, Summerland, Hawthorne on the channels MTV, CBS, The WB, TNT respectively. In 2004, she began her long run on Broadway as the female lead in Beauty and the Beast. She is also best known on Broadway for her work with Avenue Q on Broadway in 2008. In 2010, she appeared in an off-Broadway show, White’s Lies with Betty Buckley. As a voice actress, she has also made guest appearances on Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Family Guy and The Penguins of Madagascar. In 2012, she appeared in an episode of the webseries, My Music as herself.

Christy has also been applauded for her musical talents. She has sung songs for the soundtracks on Kim Possible. Her singing talent was first discovered while she was on Even Stevens. In 2004, the actress even released an album of her Disney songs titled Greatest Disney TV & Film Hits under Walt Disney Records.  The talented actress has also written a novel titled Grace’s Turn, receiving critical acclaims from the New York Public Library. She also dabbled in directing in 2012 with a music video that was premiered at the Los Angeles Shorts Fest that year.

Christy Carlson Romano has been a prominent celebrity in Broadway and Disney Channel shows. Her roles in Kim Possible and Even Stevens have defined her following career roles in the industry, even winning two Young Artist Awards for Even Stevens in 2001 and 2002. Now at the age of 30, the industry is yet to see her in a starring role in a major movie.
