Bloating is the uncomfortable feeling you get when gas is trapped in your stomach. There are natural remedies to alleviate or avoid it entirely. These include:


1. Ginger

Ginger is an age-old secret spice that has been used for reducing bloating. You can use it in food to prevent bloating. The other option is to take different homemade recipes to help fight bloating.

The best way to make use of the ginger is to have a fresh root at hand. It is more potent than the powdered one. The first recipe involves peeling and grating an inch of the ginger root.

You can also mash this with a mortar and pestle to turn it into a fine paste. Take this spoonful when suffering from bloating. Note that ginger has a sharp and bitter taste before you attempt this.

To make ginger water, peel an inch of ginger and place it in a pan of boiling water. Let the water boil for about three minutes to get the juice out of the ginger.

Let it sit for a while before sieving it into a cup. If the taste is too much for you, you can sweeten it with honey.

2. Turmeric

You can use peppermint as an ingredient in de-bloating teas. To make peppermint tea, bring one cup of water to a boil. Once this is done, pour the boiled water into a cup and pour in one teaspoon of shredded peppermint leaves.

Cover it with a saucer or plate and let it steep for a few minutes. Uncover and sip your tea regularly to get rid of bloating. Peppermint tea can be taken by adults comfortably.

Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice, about one and a half tablespoons into a cup. Fill the cup with warm or hot water. The other option is to cut up lemons and place them in a pitcher of water overnight to let them steep.

You can also add ginger and turmeric to your lemon water to make it more effective. On its own, lemon water is just as effective in expelling gas trapped in your intestines. Sweetening with honey is allowed as honey also helps with digestive tract issues.

5. Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal is used to treat different digestive system issues including bloating. The charcoal is designed to absorb impurities. If is therefore best used for detoxification. In addition to this, it sucks the gas trapped in your intestines.

You can get activated charcoal over the counter but it is best prescribed by a licensed doctor. While good for the stomach, prolonged use of activated charcoal can cause some serious issues. You do not want to overuse the pills.

After all, too much of anything is poison. You want to take the pills as prescribed and directed by your doctor. This is especially important for pregnant women. You have two options.

You could take your activated charcoal pills with water just like you would take any other tablets. The other option is to include them as you blend your smoothies.

These pills can cause gagging since they do not have a nice taste and can take some time to get used to.

6. Garlic

10. Apple Cider Vinegar

It will also provide a healthy environment for bacteria in the gut to function optimally. Apple cider vinegar is also used for bloating. All you have to do is take a warm or cold glass of water.

Add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and down it at a go. It will help to reduce bloating almost immediately. The most effective ACV is that which is unfiltered, also known as ‘with the mother.’

It is important to regulate the intake of apple cider vinegar to at most two tablespoons a day. It should be introduced in small doses.

This will help to avoid any negative effects that may come from introducing something foreign to your diet all of a sudden.
