With extensive theater experience, Jane Lynch ventured into silver screen in 1988, playing Ms. Linstrom in “Vice Versa”. Obsessed with acting since tender age, Jane grew up dreaming of being actress.
The actress who began life as Jane Marie Lynch on 14th of July 1960 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, United States is now better known as Jane Lynch. The daughter of a banker, Frank Lynch and homemaker-secretary, Eileen, Jane was raised Catholic. Though she originally hailed from Evergreen park, she spent her formative years in Dolton. She is of Irish and Swedish ancestry. She completed her secondary education through the Thornridge High School and furthered her education at the Illinois State University and earned bachelor’s degree in theater. She furthered honed her acting skill at the Cornell University, earning MFA in theater. Following the completion of education, she returned to Chicago where she began performing with the Steppenwolf Theater Company and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. She joined the popular comedy troupe called “The Second City”.
Openly lesbian, Jane Lynch is reported to be single currently. However she was once a married woman. On 31st of May 2010, she walked down the aisle with Clinical Psychologist Lara Embry. While Jane was working in theater productions, she started to receive small roles in television and features. After making appearance in the Harrison Ford film “The Fugitive”, she shifted to Los Angeles to try her luck onscreen. Throughout the nineties, she racked up great amount of television guest spots in diverse range of shows, form FOX series “Party of Five” and NBC’s “News Radios” to ABC’s “Dharma and Greg”. Her tall stature and highly confident persona grabbed her multiple roles as nurses, doctors and reports along with office professionals on several commercials. Her performance as a lesbian dig trainer, Christy Cummings in “Best in Shows” demonstrated her flawless comic timing and proved her to be an able improviser that paved her way to more comedy roles, eventually.
