Jami Gertz started her acting career as a child actress in an episode of Diff’rent Strokes with Andrew Dice Clay. She also got a recurring role as Blair’s pal and schoolmate Boots St. Clair on The Facts of Life.
Her first movie was Endless Love in 1981 and later co-starred in television series Square Pegs since 1982-83. She got fair popularity from the movie Less Than Zero along with Robert Downey, Jr. and Andrew McCarthy in 1987 and in the same year, she starred in horror comedy movie The Lost Boys.
Apart from that, she has also starred in blockbuster movie Twister in the main supporting role after returning from Paris where she worked as scent designer. She has done several movies including Solarbabies, Crossroads, Listen to Me, Jersey Girl, Silence like Glass, Renegades, Sibling Rivalry, Seven Girlfriends, and Keeping up with the Steins and Dealin’ with Idiots.
Jami has also auditioned for the role of Rachel Green for Friends. She has appeared in an episode family Ties, Sibs, ‘The Stall’ episode of Seinfeld, Dream On, Hudson Street, Shark, Modern Family and This Is Us as well.
She played the recurring role in the series like The Facts of Life, ER, Entourage, and Fox’s Ally McBeal for which she got a nomination for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
Additionally, she was cast in a lead role in the ABC’s TV series The Neighbors in its 2nd season as Debbie Weaver. She also appeared in the 4th seasons of Still Standing for which she nominated for Young Artist Award. She has also done some TV films such as This Can’t Be Love, True Love, Undercover Christmas and others.
