Ginger Renee Colonomos is an American television correspondent and meteorologist. She is working for ABC as the chief meteorologist. Prior to that, she used to be a weekend meteorologist. She is an anchor for Good Morning America and worked earlier for Good Morning America Weekend Edition.

Family and Personal Life

Ginger Zee was born on 13 January 1981 in Orange, California, United States. Her parents are Dawn E. Zuidgeest-Craft and Robert O. “Bob” who have two more children excluding Zee named Sean Jeffrey and Walter “Wally”. She was named Ginger by her father to show his love for Gilligan’s Island that helped him to learn English. Carl John Craft is a stepfather to Zee and has two half-sisters named Adrianna and Elaina Craft.

Growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she completed her high school from Rockford High School at the age of 18. She graduated from Valparaiso University with a bachelor degree in meteorology and majored in mathematics and Spanish. She was suffered by Narcolepsy in her early 20s. Her aim during university days was to be on The Today Show as Meteorologist by age 30.

On 7 June 2014, Zee married Benjamin Aaron Colonomous, co-host of Crazy Talk series and former WNBC personality in Petoskey, Michigan. He is known widely by stage name Ben Aaron with whom Zee engaged in August 2013. The couple became the proud parents of son Adrian in late 2015. They are living cheerful family life in New York City with lots of love and respect for each other.

Ginger Zee is a beautiful meteorologist with a beautiful brain with the body measurements of 34-25-34 inches. Her banana shape figure makes her look dazzling in any kind of attire. She stands tall with the height of 5 feet 7 inches followed by the weight of 56 kilos.

Professional Career

Ginger Zee once shared that she wanted to be Meteorologist for the reason that “I saw a waterspout on Lake Michigan when I was eight… I was mesmerized. I really thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen.” Following her college, she served for different media like WEYI-TV in Flint, WYIN-TV in Merrillville, WLAV-FM, and WOOD-TV.

From 2006-11, she also worked for WMAQ in Chicago, a channel operated by NBC. She was given to fulfill her dream by letting her be a guest meteorologist for The Today Show once. She is also an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.

On 12 November 2011, she joined ABC’s Good Morning America Weekend. Later on December 2, 2013, she was appointed by ABC as Good Morning America’s Chief Meteorologist as well as climate editor for ABC News following Sam Champion, who went for a job at The Weather Channel. Zee infrequently appears on other shows like Nightline and ABC World News Tonight.

At the age of 35, Emmy winning Meteorologist, Zee, appeared as a celebrity contestant on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars on its 22nd season pairing with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, a professional dancer. They compete till the final and ranked the third position.
