Celia Keenan-Bolger is one of the renowned names amongst the American performing artists. Best known to the public as a stage actress, she is also a film/television actress and a singer. It was in 2001 that Celia launched her acting career. In her career spanning nearly 14 years, she has appeared in various popular television series and stage acts which have earned her critical reviews and different awards. The actress was born on 26th January, 1978 in Detroit, Michigan, United States.

Reportedly born in Detroit, Celia was raised in her home town. She does not seem to be interested in sharing her personal information with the public. Hence there are no information uncovered about her parents and family background. However, it is known that she was born as the eldest of three children born to her parents. She has a sister named Maggie Keenan-Bolger and a brother named Andrew Keenan-Bolger, both of whom have followed Celia’s footsteps by becoming performing artists. Celia, who was born and raised in Detroit, received her high school education from the Detroit School of Arts High School. The school was previously known as Detroit High School for the Fine and Performing Arts. She was also a student at the Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit where she got a platform to nurture and cultivate her skills in performing arts. She later graduated from University of Michigan. Celia began working as a stage actress in 2002. In her earlier career, she used to perform in various local level productions. Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, The Light in the Piazza, Kindertransport, Summer of ‘42, Little Fish, etc are some plays in which she has acted during her earlier years as an actress. In 2005, she debuted as a Broadway actress by portraying the role of Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee. As Olive Ostrovsy of The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee, she has performed on the stages of various theatres like Barrington Stage Company, Second Stage Theatre, Wadsworth Theatre and Circle in the Square Theatre from 2004 to 2006. For her countless efforts she made for this play, she received a Drama Desk Award and a Theatre World Award along with a Tony Award nomination. Soon afterwards, she was featured as the character named Eponine in 2006’s play Les Miserable. Peter and the Starcatcher, Merrily We Roll Along and The Glass Menagerie are other popular stage acts in which has performed. Her performances in these acts have won her prestigious awards like Broadway. Com Audience Choice Award, Elliot Norton Award, Drama Desk Award, Theatre World Award, Independent Reviewers of New England Award, Award, etc. Currently, she is playing a role in the play The Oldest Boy at Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre since October 2014.  Celia debuted as a television actress in 2007 by playing the role of Elaine Fowler in Murder Book, an episode of Law & Order. Before this, Celia has made a short appearance in 2002’s television series The Education of Max Bickford but she was not credited. After appearing in Law & Order, she appeared in other television series like Heartland, The Battery’s Down, Submissions Only, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Recently, in 2014, she has made an uncredited cameo for television series Nurse Jackie.
