Anson Mount Bio

Considered to be one of the most talented American actors, Anson Mount has it all, form looks to skills to zeal. “Hell on Wheels” fame, Anson Mount began onscreen career in 1999, playing Kevin Wah in an episode of “Ally McBeal” followed by “Sex and the City”. Since then he has starred in a number of high-profile films and small screen projects.

Born in a well to do family, Anson Mount is an only son of a former golfer, Nancy Smith. His dad Anson Adams Mount II worked for Playboy magazine as contributing editor.  25th February 1973 born Anson is a native of Arlington Heights, Illinois, however was raised in White Bluff, Tennessee. From his dad’s first marriage, she has two Sisters Elizabeth and Kristin and elder brother, Anson Adams III. His suffered a tragedy of losing his dad when he was merely thirteen years old. He received his high school education at the Dickson County High School located in Dickson, Tennessee and the attended The University of the South. While studying at The University of the South, he was in Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Continuing his education, he enrolled at the Columbia University where he earned MFA in theater.

Following his graduation, Anson Mount made his onscreen debut on small screen, appearing in the guest roles in series like “Ally McBeal” and “Sex and the City”. In 2000, he tried his hand on the big screen and played Toby Belcher in slasher film “Urban Legends: Final Cut”, starring Jennifer Morrison and Matthew Davis. He was quite regular in big screen that year, appearing in two more movies “Tully” and “Boiler Room”. Back on the small screen, he grabbed a recurring role in “Third Watch”. The year 2002 proved to be very important to his career as in that year, he got opportunity to play opposite Britney Spears in hit comedy –drama road movie “Crossroads”. The movie earned him Teen Choice Award for Best Chemistry nomination along with Britney Spears. Director Michael Caton-Jones tapped him to play Dave Simon in “City by the Sea”. In the 2000s, he appeared in movies, such as “The Battle of Shaker Heights”, “The Warrior Class”, “In Her Shoes”, “Poolhall Junkies”, “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane”, “Walk the Talk”, “Hood of Horror”, “Privacy Policy”, “The Two Mr. Kissels”, “Cook County” and “Burning Palms”. Returning to the small screen, he made appearances in television shows, such as “Smallville”, “Line of Fire”, “CSI: Miami”, “Lost”, “Law & Order” and “Dollhouse”. In 2003, he appeared in crime drama titled “Line of Fire”. Since 2004 to 2005, he portrayed Will Carver in “The Mountain”. In 2011, he was tapped to play lead role in western television series “Hell on Wheels”. Anson believed this is the most successful work in his career. The series certainly raised his status and accumulated large number of fans. He played a former Confederate soldier Cullen Bohannon. The fifth season of the series wrapped up recently. His most recent big screen project include movies such as “hick”, “Safe”, “Non-Stop”, “The Forger”, “Supremacy” and “Mr. Right”. As of 2015, Anson Mount has accumulated a net worth of three million dollars.

Despite spending so many years in the limelight, Anson Mount has managed to keep his personal life completely wrapped. He has been utterly silent regarding his love life. Though it has been reported he had a girlfriend named Famke Janssen the couple never come forth to accept their relationship. No information regarding his marriage, wife, children or divorce has been revealed in media. Charming actor has flaunted his perfect physic quite a few times.
