Anjelah Johnson was born on 14 May 1982 in San Jose, California, the United States. She belongs to Native American and Mexican descent and grew up in a joint family along with her four siblings.
Since her early childhood, she was active in soccer, track, and softball. At the age of 8, she was a Pop Warner cheerleader. She also practiced hip hop and break dance.
During her senior days in college, she began her acting and was very much interested in imitating accents. Johnson studied speech communications from De Anza College. She has performed as a cheerleader for Oakland Raiders. At that time, she won the title Rookie of the Year. She has also performed at the Super Bowl XXXVII.
Anjelah Johnson married to Manwell Reyes, a member of Group 1 Crew in June 2011. The couple chose Half Moon Bay, California as their venue to exchange the vow. It’s been more than 6 years and they don’t have children. The couple clarified that they are not interested in having children anytime soon.

Besides that, she released two music videos and three songs as the character Bon Qui Qui. Anjelah signed a record deal with Warner Bros to release a full album Gold Plated Dreams. The album Gold Plated Dreams was a great hit. She then collaborated with Benefit cosmetics and released her third music video titled This Is How We Do It.
Later, she released a new video titled Shut Us Down for her album Gold Plated Dreams in early 2016. In 2011, she served as a spoke person for Taco Cabana, a Mexican restaurant. The following year, she became a spoke person for the campaign Led by vRide called ‘Don’t be an S.O.V’. Once again in 2013, she reprised the Bon Qui’s role on the MADtv.
Furthermore, she also featured in her second stand-up comedy entitled Homecoming Show on Netflix. She has appeared in numerous commercials ads such as Snickers, K-Swiss, Sprint, Verizon, and Dryers Ice Cream. She has also appeared as a guest on shows like Ugly Betty, The Shield, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and few other stand-up comedy events.
