On a morning edition of Red Eye, the news-of-the-day went on with comedic musings. However, a kind of tension arose as Andy Levy and panelist Diane Macedo had hot debate on New York Police Department’s new surveillance system during the Halftime Report. During the discussion, he challenged the panelist over her earlier claims that she never understood the privacy arguments against the police monitoring her. He said that he wanted to confirm if she thought the state has the right to track her movement. Macedo, however, said that she didn’t mind it as she was not committing any crimes. On responding panelist Kevin Williamson, she said that she didn’t mind and it’s not like the government is putting this information out onto Facebook. Levy then pointed out how Macedo can think it’s okay when the government should not be tracking movement of the citizens. The discussion kept going hot until Levy shouted, “It’s not fine. If it’s fine for you, go live in a place where everyone else thinks like you. There are people like me who don’t think it’s fine.”
